Between 2001-2015, the total number of med school applicants increased by 38%. (I.e. more people are applying to med school.) However, in RURAL areas over same time period, # of apps has fallen by 2%. We have few resources for rural applicants. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…

!!!! THIS the next time someone tries to say this, i am simply going to refer them to the american college of surgeons. OB/GYNs are surgeons - it is not an opinion, it is a fact.

Yes, the US government has been subsidizing science. That is not a weakness of our system. It is one of our greatest strengths. Turning our back on NIH and the institutions who do science for the sake of science, not profit, debases us all.

Rural hospitals aren’t a relic of the past—they’re a lifeline. They’re the only thing standing between life and death for millions of Americans. You can’t “disrupt” or “innovate” your way out of needing boots-on-the-ground medicine.

Trump owes $500 million from his defamation lawsuit. He has not paid it, & owes 175k a day he doesn’t pay. They are not garnishing his wages or assets. Meanwhile, his administration just ruled that student loans, that are not being paid, will be garnished from American’s wages.
