I think this was the birth of huddshistory on the evening of 27 September 1978? The word "Workshop" in the name was changed to "Society" in the early 1980s. huddersfieldhistory.org.uk
And a small feature from 2 October 1979 marking the future society's first year. 45 years later huddshistory is going from strength to strength and Cyril's still the chair! Well worth becoming a member if you're interested in local history :-) huddersfieldhistory.org.uk
