๐๏ธ 60 years ago today, Harwich and Parkeston FC played their first-ever Athenian League game - and what a cracker it was! ๐คฏ Windsor & Eton were beaten 5-4 on the Oak with Dick Parker, Don Candy, Roger Stevens (pictured), John 'Dots' Holmes and Steve Devaux finding the net.
๐ This season's #FAVase starts tonight so we're asking what's your favourite memory of Harwich and Parkeston FC in the competition? ๐ We're going with the trip to Merseyside to face Cammell Laird 1907 FC in 1991. What a day!
Some cracking finishes from DGโ๏ธ today. Still hard to pick a man of the match though. Alfred Smith and Bradley cook also top drawer.
๐ Look what you've woken up to Harwich and Parkeston FC fans! It's the 1st time #HPFC have been top of the table after 6 league games since 2013/14 (Matt Carmichael also in charge then). Last occurrence in senior football (we think) was 1992/93. 6 wins from 6 on both occasions.
๐๏ธ August 26, 1989 โ Harwich and Parkeston FC legend John Kemp made his debut in a 1-1 draw with Felixstowe Town (now Felixstowe & Walton Utd FC). โฝ๏ธ He would go on to make a total of 320 appearances, scoring 160 goals, a tally which puts him 5th on the club's all-time top scorers list.
๐ฅ Bradley cook and the Harwich and Parkeston FC defence have kept three consecutive clean sheets for the first time since early 2022. ๐ A great effort considering that they've played with 10 men for the majority of two of those matches! ๐ฆ #HPFC #OldSafeHands #BradsCooking

๐ Tomorrow's Blast From The Past column in the Harwich and Parkeston FC programme features a player from the last #HPFC team to win a league title in 1964/65! ๐ธ The cover star is last week's hat-trick hero DGโ๏ธ. Great layout by Cult Zeros. #TomorrowsProgrammeToday Non-League Programmes
๐ 40 years ago today, FA Cup winner Mick Lambert played his one and only game for Harwich and Parkeston FC. ๐ค Ipswich's 1978 Wembley star injured himself while scoring in the 1-1 ECL draw with Clacton Town on the Oak and had to go off after 20 minutes! ๐ฆ #HPFC #ITFC
๐ September 5, 1964 - The AFA Invitation Cup final, played on the Oak, saw Harwich and Parkeston FC beaten 3-1 by Worthing FC. โฝ๏ธ It was no great surprise - the Sussex side played in the Athenian League Premier Division; #HPFC were in Division 2.
