Evie Ladin flatfooted her way across Troublesome Creek a few weeks ago. Appalachian flatfoot dance is a low-to-the ground form of traditional percussive dance, borrowing from Irish and African American traditions. The tune is Muddy Creek, by Eastern Kentucky fiddler, John Salyer

Our first ever Appalachian Songwriters' Weekend brought in some incredible talent! One example is a young man by the name of Dalton Dailey whose tear-jerking anthem, Not Good Enough" sent the crowd into an uproar of applause!

Neci is a dedicated fiddler in our Pick & Bow program. Her favorite tune to play is "Elk River Blues" by Ernie Carpenter! 4th-12th grade students living in Knott, Floyd, or Perry county are eligible to take free instrument lessons. Contact Sarah Kate for information!

Our canned food giveaway is tomorrow at 1:00PM! Distribution will be by drive-thru, limit of 1 bag per vehicle. We have 100 bags to giveaway that include: 2 Cans Green Beans, 2 Cans Corn, 2 Cans Pinto Beans, 1 Mac & Cheese, 1 Vienna Sausage, and 1 Box of Stuffing.
