Our first ever Appalachian Songwriters' Weekend brought in some incredible talent! One example is a young man by the name of Dalton Dailey whose tear-jerking anthem, Not Good Enough" sent the crowd into an uproar of applause!

Neci is a dedicated fiddler in our Pick & Bow program. Her favorite tune to play is "Elk River Blues" by Ernie Carpenter! 4th-12th grade students living in Knott, Floyd, or Perry county are eligible to take free instrument lessons. Contact Sarah Kate for information!

Our 2025 Hindman Day at the Races is in the books! We began the day with a tour of Jonabell Farm, one of the nation's leading thoroughbred horse farms. Guests then joined us at Keeneland and enjoyed a full day of thrilling horse races! 🐎

This week our staff made a visit to Pine Mountain Settlement School! Pine Mountain was founded by one of our very own, Katherine Pettit, in 1913. We spent the day learning about their work, our common history, and shared challenges as historic educational organizations.
