Alhamdulillah. The hilal of Safar 1440 AH was sighted on Tuesday, October 9th by experienced moonsighters in the Santa Cruz mountains near San Jose, California.

The moonsighting for Rabi' Al-Awwal is set for the 29th day of Safar which will take place on Wednesday November 7th, 2018. Please go out and search for the new moon. Send in your reports to this page and also check here for announcements for the start of Rabi' Al-Awwal.

No sightings were made this evening. Rabi Al-Awwal starts on Friday November 9th Insha Allah.

The new moon was not seen on the evening of Friday December 7th. So Rabi Al-Awwal was completed as 30 days and Rabi Ath-Thaani commenced on Sunday December 9th.
