I was away from school one day and I asked the casual teacher to introduce acrostic poems to the students. I said to use my name as the example. I also mentioned that I wanted them to be honest. I came back to class and saw this! What a great bunch of kids! 😃 Poetry Daily
Some more photos of the STEM projects that the students are working on. Bridge building at its finest. Teaching STEM
Students practicing their sphero painting for the first time. Getting ready to represent an artist from the 1800's in their PBL presentation. Sphero Education
A group of students testing their bridges. It didn’t quite make it all the way. Sphero Education
Charging the new Sphero Bolts for our staff development day. Looking forward to the new and exciting adventures that NPS will be experiencing in 2019 #lifelonglearning. Sphero Education
My Year 5’s final project of 2018. Quickly built a miniature Olympic swimming pool for the Sphero’s to race each other. Then an unsuspected entrance from the Parrot Mambo captured the moment. Parrot Education Sphero Education
That moment when you decide to use your brother’s Rogue Fishing Rod Holder and deconstruct it into an IPAD rack for the classroom. Apple Education
What a spectacular challenge! Students were asked to design an exercise used in strength or aerobic training and then code a microbit to keep track of how many they completed. The problem solving, collaboration and creativity was astounding. Exciting times! Micro:bit Educational Foundation
What a great way to model how to use a simple circuit using a switch and a buzzer to construct a game. Looking forward to seeing what the students can come up with over the next two weeks. Nowra Public School Official #problemsolving #creativity #science
6H made a game using a strawberry and an apple as buttons. Who ever presses the button the most wins. Students were extremely excited to investigate how you can code and complete circuits using fruit and their body.Nowra Public School Official Micro:bit Educational Foundation
It’s great to see students in 6H excited about using their circuit, coding and electrical knowledge to construct games. Lots of variations. Claw machine, ball throwing, sphero maze, ring toss, marble run, basketball, card game and cannon ball tennis. Sphero Education Micro:bit Educational Foundation
Students designed a maze for the sphero using their knowledge of circuits and coding (microbit) to count each time the sphero entered each corner of the maze. Kate Daniel showing us her driving skills. A fantastic game! Great work! Sphero Education Micro:bit Educational Foundation
Basketball Shooting game designed by 6H students was an excellent addition to our electronic arcade classroom. If the shot made it in the the bottom hoop, it made a light glow and a propeller spin, if it made it in the top hoop, it made a buzzing sound. Janine Lewis had a turn.
Students were given a maths assessment, but what better way than to incorporate a healthy lifestyle. They were given a challenge and the only way they could eat the fruit was to measure the correct weight of each item needed for a fruit salad. #healthylifestyle Nowra Public School Official
Year 6 had their market day for the Kidpreneur Challenge today. It was a huge success, bringing all students, staff and community together. They conducted market research, advertised, designed, prototyped and budgeted for their business. Luke Harding Nowra Public School Official
What a fantastic way to end the term. I was lucky enough to spend time with the children who were at school creating a ‘Stop Motion’ video for my class (5H). A little rushed with the time we had but we had fun! Thank you to those who helped. Stay safe! Nowra Public School Official
