Geography makes it clear that Ethiopia’s only paths to the Red Sea are through Eritrea or Djibouti. 🙂Lately, the PP has been openly expressing its “dream” of securing access via the Red Sea. The idea of using the Gulf of Aden was never serious—it was just a drama from the start.

Ethiopian military commanders have continued their rhetoric about seizing #Assab and gaining access to the Red Sea. The Eritrean government has repeatedly rejected these claims. Notably, both governments were allies during the #Tigray genocide.
