I’m beginning to realize even pretty high-info news consumers don’t know Congress is currently in the midst of negotiating a radically hawkish bill that’d be the biggest change to immigration law since 1996.

If you follow me you know this but maybe your friends don’t? Tell em!

So very relieved that upheld and protected Tribal sovereignty and vulnerable children today. I was hopeful about the decision but this Court is rogue so I’m glad to see it in print. It would have been a disaster if it had gone the other way.

ChatGPT is clearly a game changer. I’ll be reflecting this summer on how to adapt to it, since teaching writing is a major aspect of my job as a Legal Studies prof. Giving undergrads a take home essay and saying don’t use ChatGPT is a big marshmallow test that many can’t pass.

My Law and Colonial Legacies class went better than I could have hoped! The final presentations are SO good, and we even built a playlist to accompany the syllabus for next time around! 🥳 open.spotify.com/playlist/53kJD…

“Refugees”? “Migrants”? “Illegal”? “Unauthorized”?

Terminology can be confusing – especially when it’s constantly shifting

Earlier this year, Rebecca Hamlin traced some of the key debates about how we refer to people on the move

This was TSA response to what happened to me today. Apparently they can decide with zero evidence that you might have a tampon bomb and reach into your underwear and front hand touch your genitals, all in the name of safety.

Just had to file a complaint about Denver Airport TSA after my pat down included reaching inside my underwear and rubbing my genitals through my jeans. When I complained in the moment I was told “the people who blew up planes ruined it for everyone.” WTF?
