Thursday, I awarded $8.2 million for 22 bridge projects across 15 counties in the second round of funding from our County and City Bridge Improvement Program. This will help Kentuckians in communities like Fulton County and more get to and from where they need to be safely.

My friend Silas House passed on the Kentucky Poet Laureate title to award-winning poet, essayist and teacher Kathleen Driskell. I am honored to have Kathleen serve as the 2025-26 Kentucky Poet Laureate following the official induction next week during Kentucky Writer's Day.

Our military children are resilient and brave, and it's so important we honor them along with their family members who serve. During Month of the Military Child, we're recognizing these young heroes and the sacrifices they make for our country and our freedom.

Pope Francis earned the title “The People’s Pope” by showing kindness and mercy, standing for love above hate and extending a hand to help all people. He led by example, and his humility and dedication to God brought people together. His loss is great, but his impact is greater.

We broke ground on Kentucky's first medical cannabis cultivator last week with Centaurus Farms in Monticello. This Tier Two cultivator will create dozens of jobs for our people and help us ensure Kentuckians suffering have access to medical cannabis.
