Male #lions grow impressive #manes the older they get which is a sign of dominance. the older the lion gets, the darker their manes become. The there importance is to help male lions to protect their necks and heads from injuries during fights and also to attract females.

The Ankole Long-horned cattle locally known as inyambo, has a dark brown-coat and long white horns that curve outwards in the shape of lyre. These cattle are majestic and elegant animals that are able to travel long distances in search for water and pasture. #VisitUganda

#cannabis commonly known as #marijuana is a psychoactive drug from the #cannabisplant. This weed has got hundreds of chemical compounds such as cannabinoids which helps in treating different complications and diseases like chronic pain relief, weight lose, depression, e.t.c.

Its said that African cape buffaloes have a weak sighting and hearing power but then blessed with a sharp memory; if any predator or human being causes any trouble to it, then it can remember them even after several years thus making them one of the furious revengers on earth.

The nest of the #africanthrush is cup shaped, kinder bulky, constructed using plant fibers and mud lined with the fine grasses, roots and leaves. The female African thrush lays 2-3 eggs but when it comes to feeding the young ones, both sexes have to participate. #visituganda

The #waterbuck is a large #antelope with #coarsehair and #mane on the neck, short legs, including a long body and neck. Its head and body length ranges from 177cm-235cm and shoulder height from 120-136cm. The males have #horns that carve forward and vary in length from 55-99cm.

The #Namugongoshrine is where the 22 catholic christian converts brutally lost their lives following the orders of Kabaka Mwanga II in 1886. On every 3rd June pilgrimages are made to this place to commemorate the Uganda martyrs that lost their lives because of their faith in God

When being pursued by predators, the #commonostrich has been known to reach speeds in excess of 70km/hr and can maintain a steady speed of 50km/hr which makes it the world's fastest two-legged animal.

The #spottedhyena lives in territorial social groups called #clans, dominated by #Females and can reach up to 70 members. Its a good opportunistic hunter which usually hunts a lone however, clans will hunt together in order to catch larger #prey. #visituganda #TulambuleUganda
