ʾImām ʾAbū Ḥanīfah (رحمه الله) said: “May Allah curse Jahm ibn Ṣafwān and Muqātil ibn Sulaymān for this one went to excess in negation (taʿṭīl/nafy), and that one went to excess in anthropomorphism (tashbīh).”
