In a new WP, we evaluate a behavioral intervention that has an exclusive focus on hot water. Households save hot water, but we also measure e.g. room heating. What are your #spillover priors on room heating energy? (RT appreciated)

Attempt to clarify the reoccurring confusion where a.)Non-economists, esp. natural scientist state: “on a planet with finite resources, infinite growth is logically impossible” b.)Economists take this as sign of mere ignorance about economics So who is right?

For last week's #TidyTuesday I combined two plots (actually three with the legend) showing the number and proportion of papers distributed by NBER, grouped by program and program category. code and full size image: github.com/gkaramanis/tid… #dataviz #Rstats

Congratulations to Emma Raducanu who thoroughly deserves to be crowned Sports Personality of the Year 2021. Makes me feel very old that she’s the same age as I was waaaaay back in 1998. #SPOTY

Delighted to see my first article "Rebel without a Cause" published in ESR. We explore the effects of social origins and disposable income on rule-violating behavior with interesting results (with @alex_ehlert and #H_Rauhut)

Ultimately I agree with this (that is, I oppose banning PoW). The government picking and choosing which specific applications are an okay use of electricity or not is a bad idea. Better to just implement carbon pricing, and use some of the revenues to compensate low-income users.

Looking forward to our session at #EEAESEM22! Will present a field experiment on behavioral spillovers from a hot water intervention, joint work with Alexander Goetz and Renate Schubert.
