As wind energy expands, turbines can interfere with radar signals, creating contamination called wind turbine clutter and making it harder for National Weather Service forecasters to detect storms. CIWRO's advanced signal-processing techniques clean the signal without losing important weather info.

Prolific hail day over southeastern Brazil. Moderate surface instability; good buoyancy in the hail growth region, straight hodographs with all wind shear in the 1-6 km layer; weak storm relative winds to sustain hail growth for prolonged periods.

Acabou de cair uma chuva com mto vento aqui na fazenda. Correria pra cobrir café no terreiro. Graças a Deus, nada de granizo. Mas em outros pontos do sul de Minas, olha o estrago.

5. Synoptics will always rule If you can forecast based on upper level wind, you will never miss. Boundaries, easterlies, surface lows - all those “mesoscale” features are predictable days out in any regime when the upper level jet is there. Learn it. Forget CAMs and Nadocast.

We're not expecting storms today, but chances will increase later in the week/weekend. We often talk about tornadoes/hail/wind/flooding, but not so much about lightning safety. Check out this link to learn more about lightning. #okwx #texomawx lightningsafetycouncil.org/LSC-Home2.html
