Listened to #R4 naval gazing over debt woes Pizza Hut today. Lots of #covid #CostOfLivingCrisis stuff. But why no mention of £100m debt funded MBO 5 years ago?! Why no mention of private equity? 🙄

Maybe Rick Haythornthwaite the new Chairman NatWest Group could ask why the bank only gets 1.4 stars on Trustpilot and read the reviews before he starts the ‘turnaround’.

Much focus on government support for Birmingham City Council. But little mention of the £2.6 bn pension deficit as of March’22. Up from £1.4 bn in 2011. Are public sector pensions safe? How many other council’s are in deficit? Who pays?

I feel fortunate to have seen it in its full glory last year. Heartbreaking! A metaphor for the mindless behaviour of our age sadly.
