The Physics EDI bookclub on 'Einstein on Race and Racism' concluded in February. During the bookclub we come together to talk frankly about race and how we can use our collective mass to change the shape of racial bias in physics. For EDI details: ow.ly/6Gdi50DUk9S

Our proof-of-concept paper using instance segmentation methods for particle tracking is up on arxiv! A work in progress, but I'm very excited to see where this work goes! arxiv.org/abs/2103.06509

Our vCHEP paper characterizing Interaction Networks for particle tracking is up! We show that networks with as few as 6k parameters reach nearly perfect edge classification efficiency (eg more likely to fit on FPGAs 😉) Gage DeZoort Mark Neubauer Javier M. Duarte arxiv.org/abs/2103.16701

We're happy to welcome the Princeton Physics Ambassadors to Twitter! Be sure to check out the videos from their first Prospective Physics PhD Preview (P4) program, and feel free to ask them anything about grad life, apps, and research.

I've started a research blog! gagedezoort.github.io My first posts focus on 1) correcting the "missing mass" carried away by neutrinos in tau-tau mass spectra and 2) particle tracking using a conformal mapping of tracker hit coordinates... more to come!

Check out our recent proceedings on object condensation applied to charged particle tracking! TL;DR, condensing tracks in a learned latent space is a powerful way to render tracks downstream from an edge classifier arxiv.org/abs/2309.16754
