Also - surely this is all really bad business? Ie alienating a large tranche of potential/existing customers who - for example - support Harris in US / Starmer in UK? Or am I naive and there is more $$ to be made through upselling to a smaller, more zealous fan following?

My worry, in contrast, was: underfunded public services undermine growth in myriad ways; growth leads to lower tax revenues, more underfunding, etc etc. We have to break out of the cycle one way or another. We've tried the other way...
