As we reach a number of climate tipping points, failure to act means locking humanity into extinction. At a growth rate of 3% a year, the economy will double in size after 23 years. This means by the end of the century it will be 10 times bigger than it is now.

We must must change the system, by significantly reducing the amount of work people do, sharing out the necessary labour, and gearing production towards meeting human and ecological needs, rather than the logics of capital.

The human and material time and energy dedicated to machines of war is indefensible. The University of Glasgow should be ashamed of its investments in arms companies.
