I start the fungus season proper next week leading the first walk at Consall NR RSPB Coombes Valley and Consall Woods - I have recorded 375 species this year so a good base in which to build. First though another weekend of general observing and 2 walks to lead Arley Hall & Gardens tomorrow - onwards

Sodden, scarmbling about, wrinkled feet and note paper with scribblings on I could barely make out. Walk 486 led, 66 fungi named and recorded - the brew after was a belter and much needed.

Next fungi walk to lead this Sunday at Reddish Vale in Stockport - 2 hours, the aim to share the fungal word and record 50 species. Alas the carers walks for Signpost Stockport for Carers 💚 have been cancelled which is a shame but plenty of walks to come, many already sold out.
