Metis Elders and Youth Reps came to share Metis history and culture with the Ab Ed Academy Fulton Secondary @SD22Vernon

The Fulton Ab Ed Academy and one of the Socials 9 classes did the blanket exercise Fulton Secondary @SD22Vernon

Vince Jackson came into the class and told some of the stories of his people and played a few songs on his drum Fulton Secondary @SD22Vernon

Mariel Belanger came into our class and talked about the stereotypes of indigenous people. She also talked about how countries and people are polluting the earth and what we can do to stop it Fulton Secondary @SD22Vernon

We went out to komasket and learned about its history. Then we went to the winter home, ate, and told stories around the fire Fulton Secondary @SD22Vernon

We walked to the stairs on okanagan ave and climbed them for our physical education today

The class's parents came into the class today and we told them all about our "Who is your name?" project. We then ate chinese food and watched a few videos about the chilcotin war. Fulton Secondary @SD22Vernon

We went on a bus tour around Vernon and the surrounding area today. We went and visited spots of significant indigenous history, and talked about the history of the land and how it was taken from the Okanagan people.

On March 12th we went to silverstar and went skiing/snowboarding. Then we went to one of the local restaurants and ate some pizza. @SD22Vernon Fulton Secondary

On March 14th we went back up to silverstar and spent the day snowshoeing around the resort.

We did a retelling of the How Food Was Given Okanagan story.

We re-enacted the story about Coyote and Eagle in the welcome room.

We went outside the school and did some smudging to cleanse ourselves.

We did some stick games and a board game in the class today.

Mollie came into our class and taught us and another Grade 10 socials class all about the affects of colonisation on present day native americans. @SD22Vernon Fulton Secondary

Sheldon Louis came into our class and told us all about how he is fighting for aboriginal rights through his artwork.

We went to the Kelowna Career Fair at UBCO and learned about all of our opportunities after graduation. Fulton Secondary @SD22Vernon
