A promising start to The Voice by Thomas and E M I L I E - Soprano 🎶 (@ThomasandEmilie) doing it for Wales 🏴- always nice to hear classically trained voices on this programme singing a musical theatre classic.
In Gateshead for the West End Christmas concert at the Sage. Looking forward to seeing Gina Beck and Rob Houchen after their South Pacific tour. Hope Alice Fearn has recovered from food poisoning!
Was lucky to have witnessed one of Scottish Opera’s finest productions yesterday Capital Theatres: Festival, King’s & Studio. Il Trittico was beautifully performed and fully captured the heart of each opera. The principal soloists were uniformly excellent. Best production in years and worth the critical praise
Just caught @EllenAngharad on my TV being interviewed by Owain Wyn Evans from the Coronation event in Cowbridge. Can’t think of a better way of celebrating than a couple of songs from my favourite soprano 😀
Huge congratulations to BETH TAYLOR for making the final of Cardiff Singer. I was blown away by her Round 4 performance- the expression “giein’ it laldy” came to mind. All the best for Sunday, Beth!
Very pleased to discover on arrival in Melrose that Sioned Gwen Davies is one of the singers tonight. Looking forward to hearing her in a concert setting and also to discovering @sopranomorwood for the first time.
Went to lovely final concert of Melrose Music Festival tonight and was not disappointed. A varied programme of opera, musicals, G&S was performed with panache by @sopranomorwood Sioned Gwen Davies and #JeromeKnox. Will definitely try to search out this trio in the future. Well done all.
Saw Gypsy Pitlochry Festival Theatre this afternoon. Stunning performance by Shona White as Mama Rose. Every line delivered with clarity and conviction and vocals excellent. Some good things about whole cast and production and worth a visit to Perthshire.
Excellent production of Yeomen of the Guard this afternoon at Buxton. The whole cast of The National G&S Opera Company were on top form especially @matthewsiveter1 and Meriel Cunningham. Loved the traditional feel of the direction by Simon Butteris - no gimmicks, just G& S at their best.
