April snow brings Romaine lettuce from the greenhouse! Hopefully this is the last of it and I don’t mean the lettuce. #growingyourownfood

Fridge life: #artichoke plants cold-stratifying (vernalization) to yield tasty buds in the Northeast 🥶 Two weeks at 45°F mimics their Mediterranean cycle for blooms. Far from Michael Bloomberg’s ‘dig a hole, plant a seed’ wisdom—politics and markets skip this growth! 😏

Welcome Home! So glad to see the Barn Swallows settling in for the season. This brings me so much immediate joy. I bet they’ve been coming here for as long as the barn has stood, which is around 200 years. #mothernature #barnswallow

Freville News! I’m back after getting sick, hence the delay on inventory. New ginger, turmeric and cayenne plantings are growing well. I was able to lower shipping costs with a slightly slower delivery and Elixir is in stock. Happy Spring! Enjoy the season! 💚

The new garden will be fully planted in the next couple weeks. The Garden is for home food and photo project and greenhouses are all Elixir ingredients. Speaking of Elixir…I know yesterday’s batch went fast but I’ll be producing more this week. #springhassprung

When I formerly held a spring plant sale for the public, I always sold wild strawberries / #alpinestrawberries (which are grown from seed) Now they are everywhere here thanks to the plethora of wildlife spreading them. Makes for a nice ground cover by the AC condensers.

Sweet baby #sugarsnappeas! One of my seasonal favorites. I skipped shelling peas and snow peas in our scaled down garden this year. Only growing our favorites. Plus I still have shell peas in freezer! #growyourownfood

The world has gone mad but it’s looking like a peachy and fruitful season for the Northeast USA 🇺🇸 (apples, pears, berries, etc)

Greenhouses are filled with #turmeric and #ginger and I have gotten everything into the raised bed garden! My back hurts 😂😱! But peas are coming in and the potato bags are growing tall! Now I move to maintenance mode! #growyourown
