Paleontology thread from 2025. ☝️🤓 This year I want to try to publish the most notable discoveries of this year, essentially archosaurs (dinosaurs, birds, crocodiles, etc.). I will try to update regularly.

Previously known as Archaeornithomimus bissektensis, now in 2025 a greater number of bones have been found that allowed us to discover Dzharacursor. Curiously, the specimen studied is a juvenile.

This is a new species of the genus Zhongyuansaurus (together with the type species Z. luoyangensis) thanks to this discovery its authenticity as a species of its own and not as a synonym of Gobisaurus is defended.

Did you know blastoids, the "sea buds," flourished in the Mississippian, had Ordovician roots, but vanished 250 million years ago? This one is from the Permian of Timor! 💫 #fossils #paleontology #geologyrocks #fossilfriday

#FossilFriday Here is a beautiful enrolled Edredgeops crassituberculata the Middle Devonian (Givetian) Silica Shale Formation from Ohio. This was collected by my friend Asa Kaplan a few years ago. It's a beauty!
