In 1663, the partial fossilised skeleton of a woolly rhinoceros was discovered in Germany. This is the "Magdeburg Unicorn", one of the worst fossil reconstructions in human history.

Before I moved to Germany, my wife would visit me in the UK. She only had one request: proper bread. I must have bought every possible type, but nothing seemed to impress her. I never understood her disappointment. Then I moved to Germany, and she bought me some tea bags...

Now, that's a vanishing act! Tam Shepherd's Trick Shop, the oldest magic shop in the world, has closed. Good luck to the Walton family.

Looking through the Dundas St entrance of Queen St railway station in 1968. Of course the station interior is much changed, but thirsty travellers can still pop into the pub to the right, now known as Dow's, for a pint. 📷 John Hume #Glasgow

Blackpool's side streets which run alongside the Prom are desperate places. I've wandered through some rough neighborhoods in my time and tonight I sailed close to the wind. Cutting down one deserted street, I spotted two characters at a corner. My gut instinct kicked in.. (1/2)

A couple in the coffee shop ordered soup today, so when I took it over to them I tried to look as unsteady as I could without dropping it and said "two soups" and they just looked at me blankly.

New Glasgow Society bridges the gap between the people and the planners, politicians and developers shaping the city. As Glasgow turns 850, one of its oldest amenity groups celebrates 60 yrs. Marissa MacWhirter spoke to Amanda & Thierry of NGS for this week's Sunday Editon.

I'm appalled that the B-listed Africa House in Ardeer, one of the last surviving buildings of Glasgow's 1938 Empire Exhibition, has just been illegally demolished. No listed building consent. The owner has likely committed a criminal offence. They should be forced to rebuild it.
