You can only challenge prospects at the level where they feel you have their best interest. If you're extremely on the side of the table, you can tell them directly and honestly exactly what they need to hear. Whether they're just too scared, or making excuses, just be direct.

If you don't have new problems, you're too stagnant. You need to do things that seem unreasonable to break that. Be comfortable with doing uncomfortable things.
