Barely a few weeks into the school year and we already have what appears to be a mass shooting at Apalachee High School. At what point do we stop sending thoughts and prayers and go straight to gun legislation?!? I’m so sick of this shit.

“One gunshot victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital” To give folks perspective: that’s a 1.5 hour drive for a gun shot victim to get critical care. The fact there’s nothing closer is a policy choice.

Those brave babies in Georgia had to drag their teacher’s body out from the hallway back into the classroom and barricade themselves inside while waiting for help and also try and perform trauma care. The teacher died right in front of them waiting for help.

One of the victims in the school shooting was Mason Schermerhorn, a student with autism. 😢😢

14-year-old Mason Schermerhorn was killed at Apalachee High School today. No child should have to worry about going to school and getting shot. We have failed our children. This has to stop. Prayers to Mason's family and friends.

Last year, the student responsible for today’s shooting threatened to kill people at school. Because there wasn’t “probable cause,” the FBI made no arrests. Georgia doesn’t have a red flag law, so police also didn’t remove guns from the 13 year old’s home. wsbtv.com/news/local/bar…
