Several families from our little desert town came out to help dig & mix different biomass (soil amendments). Here's the prep for our ~11.4ft native forest circle. After, we planted 13 trees & 13 herbs/plants/shrubs. buildspace nights & weekends

a beautiful day in the tiny forest 😌🌱 windy but warm, high spirits since the plants are doing so well. touched the soil beneath the mulch & found it to be surprisingly moist. hesitant to celebrate but this definitely feels like a win compared to our previous attempts 💚

I’ve never seen this many pollinators out here in the desert. It’s really beautiful to see. It’s proof that we’re making a positive difference in the desert. And it feels really good to help creatures survive in this cycle we call life. 🦋

Sunflowers have blossomed all throughout the land. This is from mice, birds, and ants eating our chicken and bird feed mix. Thanks to all the animals that spread these seeds for us!

This Miyawaki forest (or “pocket forest”) is full of native Californian plants, shrubs, & trees. We’re calling it the “KG Forest” after our generous sponsor, @_KGarage 💚 Thanks to our valued community member, Louie, for his help getting these plants in the ground ✌🏽

a music group called Sadubas trekked to the desert for a quick performance Sadubas played until nightfall, capturing the magic of desert sunset 🌅 here’s a teaser! (if you watch closely, you can see a huge sunflower and one of our pocket forests)

What’s your favorite sunset? This Sadubas performance is one of ours. The desert is known for its generative, spiritual qualities. There is something uniquely special about this place. Sadubas was able to honor that beauty through timeless dance, music, & song.
