On 17 Feb., Ambassador Maekawa met Mr. Okumura, Deputy Branch Manager at Dai Nippon Construction, to discuss progress on the North–South Corridor (Makuti–Chirundu section) and other topics. The Embassy will continue to support Zimbabwe’s infrastructure development.

2月17日、前川大使は、南北回廊（マクティ－チルンド間）道路改良工事を施工中の大日本土木（株）の奥村英司副支店長ほかの表敬を受け、同プロジェクトの進捗や現地建設会社との協力について意見交換しました。 大使館はこれからもジンバブエのインフラ整備を支援していきます。

On 20 Feb., Ambassador Maekawa received a courtesy call from Ms. Diana Cartier, Chief of Mission of IOM Zimbabwe , and was briefed on IOM’s work, including support for border immigration control. They also exchanged views on support for the Zimbabwean diaspora.

2月20日、前川大使は、ダイアナ・カルティエIOMジンバブエ代表の表敬を受け、国境地域における入国管理の支援など、当地におけるIOMの活動状況について説明を受けるとともに、在外ジンバブエ人への支援などについて意見交換を行いました。

On 20 February, Ambassador Maekawa received a courtesy call from Dr. Divine Ndhlukula, founder and managing director of SECURICO. She is a past President of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce and recently appointed Chancellor of the Women’s University in Africa.

2月25日、前川大使は、アモン・ムルウィラ外務・国際貿易大臣を着任表敬し、友好な二国間関係を更に発展させ、経済や国際場裏における協力を含む様々な分野における協力を深化させていくことについて意見交換を行いました。

On 25 Feb, Ambassador Maekawa paid a courtesy call on Prof. Dr. Amon Murwira, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and exchanged views on further developing our friendly bilateral relations and deepening cooperation in various areas.

【Let’s study easy Japanese】 Ambassador Maekawa tried Madora and said Oishii（おいしい）! The Japanese word “Oishii” means Zvinonaka or Kumnandi. Ambassador Maekawa described the flavour as earthy, nutty and savory.

【やさしいショナ語・ンデレベ語講座】 ジンバブエ人は、マドラ（昆虫食）が大好き。前川大使も頂きます。ズィノナカ (ショナ語)、クムナンディ(ンデレベ語) !! マドラはモパニの木で育つ高タンパクの幼虫で、天日干した後、煮たり揚げたりして食べられます。

2月26日、前川信隆駐ジンバブエ日本国大使は、大統領官邸にて執り行われた信任状捧呈式に出席し、ムナンガグワ大統領に信任状を捧呈しました。前川大使は、両国の友好関係を更に発展させるとともに、経済分野を含む多岐にわたる分野における協力を深化させていきたいとの抱負を述べました。

On 26 Feb, Ambassador MAEKAWA Nobutaka, presented his credentials to H.E. President Mnangagwa at State House. He expressed his earnest wish to further develop the friendly relations between the two countries and deepen cooperation, including the economic sector.

Hinamatsuri (Doll’s Day or Girls’ Day), is a Japanese festival celebrated on 3 March. We displayed Hina dolls at Ambassador's residence, wishing for the health and happiness of girls. ３月３日は雛祭り。女の子の健やかな成長を願って、大使公邸に雛人形を飾りました。
