5 members of Byron Primary School Orchestra have helped compose a piece with some other children, including 7 members of Brompton-Westbrook Orchestra, which they then performed at music@malling Scratch Orchestra in the beautiful setting of Malling Abbey. We’ve had a fantastic time. Thank you.

Participation and enjoyment was seen in all the lessons observed 😊🎼🎵🎶🥁

FS were cutting & sticking pictures of instruments to make patterns and then performing their compositions this afternoon during free flow. They recalled the names of the percussion instruments and could play loudly, quietly, quickly and slowly. 🥁

FS have had a fantastic week exploring different musical instruments. They have been creating music by using repeating patterns and trying to play them correctly. #youngmusician #repeatingpatterns #creatingmusic

Our year 4 recorders had a lovely afternoon & evening rehearsing & performing in The Recorder Festival at Gravesend Grammar They got to see & hear a ContraBass Recorder which was taller than the adult musician playing it! Their solo piece was a triumph & they showed dedication.🎼🎶🎵

Byron & Brompton Westbrook School Orchestras joined forces today for a workshop with Tom from music@malling They listened to Beethoven’s 5th & the Inspector Morse theme for inspiration around Morse Code to compose & rehearse their own piece to mark VE Day. 🎼🎶🎵🎹🎸🥁🎻🎷

Year R had an amazing treat this afternoon listening to music composed by Noah Lock to Julia Donaldson's Room on the Broom. The children said that Noah was the best composer in the world and created a card to say thank you. #JuliaDonaldson #RoomontheBroom Noah Lock
