Just spent under 20 minutes with the URA Regional Manager for domestic tax in Mbale talking about ‘problems’ in my income tax ledger, that has taken me several trips to URA Moroto and Nakawa offices - over the last two years!

As a retiree, I am bothered that URA continues to state in my income tax status that I owe them hundreds of millions in principal, fines and interests, for un-remitted PAYE deductions, and yet their own system shows that all PAYE were remitted by my previous employers.

But anyway what excited me today was the courtesy and reception that I received from this tax manager! I was expecting the kind of gaze that seems to tell you that they might need something from you, but instead the gaze I got was that I am here to help you! Thank You Sir!
