#UnrealEngine5.6 has a "Locomotor" plugin which provides a new #ControlRig node for procedural locomotion. It takes a target position as input, and outputs an array of feet transforms which animate over time to step towards the goal location. Pelvis motion is also generated.

Last year's Unreal Fest, I said that we are working on improving #GameCinematics in #Sequencer. In 5.6, we added several new features to help achieve the cinematics in #TheWitcherIV tech demo. Here's an example in vanilla #UE5 of all the features put together #gamedev #animation

We used #ControlRig to drive the slope warp on #Ciri & #Kelpie for the #Witcher4 #ue5 tech demo. I was able to give the rig to CDPR and they put it on all the NPCs. Kelpie used Kiaran Ritchie’s FBIK node to help the horse rigging not be so complex. #animation #rigging
