Congratulations to the West Meck HS Class of 2023 graduates! We were so proud to shake your hands last night!

The Butler Bulldogs seniors are a close-knit class. The class leaders sat on the stage, and many graduates paused in the “handshake line” to hug and high-five their colleagues. It was a genuine, spontaneous, and sweet spirit to behold.

This was a goosebump moment during the Butler Bulldogs graduation. Senior Anthony Vazquez played guitar and sang, “Stop This Train” by John Mayer. Midway through, the phone flashlights started…and the tears…and built throughout the song. So poignant. Unforgettable. 🥲🎓

Today, during the East Mecklenburg HS graduation, senior Noah Grayson conducted the Alma Mater for the student orchestra. I love how students in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools can find their way to leadership along many different paths. Academic, athletic, artistic, civic…Claim it! 🦅💙💛
