Delighted to share that my postdoctoral work is now online Cancer Discovery Here we show a novel form of electrical activity based cell-cell communication in the melanoma microenvironment, and identify GABA as the mediator of this communication.
🔥Very excited to receive a Transition to Independence Migrant to expand my research on the SWI/SNF remodelers to the stem cell world..and out of my comfort zone!! 🔬🫣 Thanks to the SBDRC at Mount Sinai for the unique opportunity and to the Emily Bernstein Lab for the continuous support!
We are excited to share that the Bernstein Lab will participate in the 2023 NYC Miles for Melanoma 5K race to raise funding for Melanoma Research Foundation. Please, consider donating to our *Sinai Melanoma* team to fight melanoma! join.melanoma.org/site/TR/5kRunW…
Celebrating 20 years of melanoma research at #SMR2023! Elena Grossi and Dan Filipescu from our lab will present talks on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning, respectively. Don't miss them!
New preprint from the bernstein_lab led by our amazing postdoc Sina Jostes (Sina Jostes)!! The Tisch Cancer Institute Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai H2A.Z chaperones converge on histone H4 acetylation for melanoma cell proliferation biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Our paper on RNAPII-BAF-TF synergy is now out in Nature Genetics! Since publishing the preprint (🧵➡️ tinyurl.com/36jtfraj), we added expt to show that enhanced nucleosome eviction upon stabilization of BAF by RNAPII, assayed by CUT&RUN.ChIP, is ATP-dep. ➡️rdcu.be/dsJPk
Postdocs are critical to the research work of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. They’ve had no raise since before the pandemic. After 14 months of bargaining now they have been forced to go out on strike. I stand strongly in solidarity with Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee-UAW.
Thanks Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for supporting us Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee-UAW!💪 We are fighting to build a better, more equitable and more competitive academia, able to retain talents that now more than ever are transitioning to industry. Hope Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai will stop living in the past and embrace the change 😌
After a 12-day strike we have reached a tentative agreement with Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai! This is a massive achievement and would not have been possible without years of efforts by hundreds of postdocs and our incredible allies who stood with us ✊🏽 #1u
It was great to present my data today on SWI/SNF remodelers in melanoma at the International Symposium on Medical Epigenetics sfb992.uni-freiburg.de/symposium2024 Thanks MPI of Immunobiology & Epigenetics & Universität Freiburg for giving me the opportunity to share the stage with real #epigenetics giants!!
