Excited to be back at Cedar Creek ESR for my third field season with @AlienImpacts! Already met some new friends, including an adventurous bull snake and a mamma bird who decided to nest directly under one of my plants…

Help required plz! Any protocols on phytohormone (JA, SA, ABA) extraction using dried plant material (i.e. air-dried or in oven, NOT using liquid N to snap-freeze?) Getting liquid N will be challenging at field site, hoping to be able to dry and grind leaves & extract later!

You know the smell of sewage on the Strand is bad when you deliberately walk through someone’s vape cloud for a bit of relief

So she was first author on his key paper - in fact she's on most of his key papers, yet she didn't get the Nobel Prize, in spite of the fact they could have given 3 awards, not just 2. Explain to me how STEM is not institutionally sexist.

If anyone is still on here, very pleased to have played a small part in this paper about sampling mass mortality events now out Methods in Ecology and Evolution (using freshwater mussels as an example) - something regrettably gaining more and more relevance! besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

V. pleased to see this in Ecosphere! Priority effects are important in determining host-parasite dynamics in natural systems. Here, I show there are different types of priority effect, and they have very different consequences for host populations... esajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ec…
