Why are some non-antibiotic drugs toxic to bacteria 💊☠️🦠? Do they work like standard #antibiotics (ABX)? Our latest work by Mariana Noto published Science Magazine addresses this fundamental question (1/n) science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

The latest Link lab paper is out J. Am. Chem. Soc. today led by Brian Choi: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…. In this work we show that ATP grasp enzymes that usually make esters can also make thioesters.

Excited to release our latest work, led by Sebastian Gonzalez La Corte (Sebastian Gonzalez La Corte) with Ned Wingreen: doi.org/10.1101/2024.0…! Here, we show that polymers unexpectedly sculpt proliferating bacterial colonies into spaghetti-like "cables".🦠🍝 Tweetorial follows! [1/10]

Psst. Hey. Yeah you. Want to build 100s to 1000s of plasmids (*any sequence* up to ~6000 bp) for about $10 to $40 each? salislab.net/software/build… Try it out ... feedback is welcomed & encouraged :)

The latest Link lab paper is out Biochemistry!: doi.org/10.1021/acs.bi… This work, led by Angela Zhu, focuses on the cysimiditides, a new subfamily of #RiPPs. The cysimiditides include a tetracysteine motif that coordinates a zinc ion and a single aspartimide moiety.
