Dad was athletic. I remember entering the parent/daughter swim race. I was a decent swimmer. But Dad was a dynamo. I can still see him exploding into a racer dive. Anchor man. Yes, we won. But it wasn’t about winning. It was seeing that side of him that amazed me.

Dad wasn’t really a competitive guy. He did what he did because he loved it and it was fun. If it led to something better - great. He loved his family and a simple life with good home cooked meals, sports on TV, and weekends off.
