I've been a longtime fan of {bookdown}, but I'm liking how easy quatro makes building an ebook. Here's an introduction: quarto.org/docs/books/

Here's a paper that explains the difference between standard errors and standard deviations: bmj.com/content/331/75… Here's our paper, which shows that experts (doctors, professors, data scientists) mix them up: pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

My periodic reminder that if you are looking for examples of how to structure a repository for public data sharing, as well as what documentation to share along with your data, I created an example project here on Center for Open Science! osf.io/59gte/

It took me SEVEN years to figure out that you can save a ggplot as a vectorized .svg file ggsave("file.svg"). The svg file can be opened on powerpoint and it will be completely vectorized, even text are still recognized as text boxes! No more recreating plots on illustrator!!!!!

Last spring I gave a workshop on Data Cleaning for Data Sharing Using R where we learned how to assess the quality of a dataset and apply a standardized checklist of cleaning steps in #rstats. The slides and exercise materials are here if interested! cghlewis.github.io/ncme-data-clea…

Data management shouldn’t be considered an isolated process that happens off to the side during your project, or only at the end of your project. It should be integrated into almost every phase of your research project life cycle. 🔄 datamgmtinedresearch.com/rdm#the-resear…

When sharing data, it's important that your data meet a set of standard data quality criteria (datamgmtinedresearch.com/clean#clean-cr…) and is also shared along with documentation (datamgmtinedresearch.com/share#what-doc…) to allow for reuse and correct interpretation! osf.io/t8upr

Cool tools I came across yesterday when searching for help designing folder structures. 🌟 1. Paste a GitHub project URL and it will diagram your structure: woochanleee.github.io/project-tree-g… 2. Quickly design a diagram for a potential file tree: tree.nathanfriend.io

I just recorded a lecture on Bayes factors (originally the final lecture at SMLP 2024 in the Intro Bayes class). This may be helpful to people planning to use Bayes factors in their research: youtu.be/ACilMDFvG1c
