For an app I’m working on, I made this custom detented sheet view, with support for continuous scrolling with embedded UIScrollView, similar to what’s used in the native Maps app. Written in Objective-C using UIKit, this implementation is compatible with iOS 8 and later.

Finally got a chance to attempt a storage upgrade on an M4 Pro Mac mini, and it was a huge success! I was able to successfully upgrade the internal storage from 512GB to 4TB. Currently, the new chips needed to achieve 8TB on this model aren’t yet available.

iBoff RCC just finished the design of a brand new custom NAND module for the M4 Mac mini, and sent me a couple to try out. Very excited to give them a try! Definitely take a look at Mat’s great video, going into all the details about the design process: youtu.be/F3CYj37bxDE

At Vintage Computer Federation VCF East this year, I will be exhibiting my collection of old and prototype cell phones, all working and connected to a custom home-built 2G/“EDGE” GSM base station! Those who visit the exhibit with a compatible GSM cell phone can connect as well!

Using my home-built GSM cellular base station while at VCF East, we were able to successfully get GPRS and WAP working on multiple cell phones!

I had the privilege of performing a RAM upgrade on this legend's Apple TV while at VCF East this weekend (to a whopping 512MB). Definitely give his video a watch!

Just recently picked up a few of these really cool clear prototype AirPods cases! They unfortunately appear to be non-functional currently, but hopefully with a bit of effort I can get them working again, and ideally be able to use them as normal AirPods.

In addition to these, I also got what appear to be dev boards for Apple Silicon Mac and iPhone WiFi and Baseband ICs... I originally thought they may just plug into a normal PCIe slot, but despite having an identical edge connector, are not compatible.

The last odd thing I picked up recently is this Connect-X 5 based 25 Gbit fiber networking card, with an Apple T2 SOC on it! This particular unit is marked EVT, and has a CPFM 01 SOC, a 128GB NAND chip, and is running “DarwinOS”. My best guess is this is a SmartNIC of some kind.

Unreleased prototype M1 Pro Mac Mini logic boards (PROTO 0 stage). Both boards are either drilled or significantly damaged, and are missing their NANDs. Unfortunately too far gone to have any chance of getting them back up and running, but still very cool nonetheless.

Just did this upgrade yet again, but with an M1 Pro 16” MacBook Pro this time. Luckily I actually have schematics for this model, so it wasn’t quite as hard as doing it on the M3 Max model, but still is a pretty involved upgrade. Went from 4-NAND 512GB to 8-NAND 8TB!

Just got a laptop I have been looking for for a very long time... The development hardware for the Qualcomm Snapdragon X-Elite laptops, the CRD8380, and an EVT prototype at that! Can’t wait to get this thing up and running!
