If you’re a delusional screenwriter you’ll probably make it

I’ve said something like this before but it’s actually somewhat accurate. Making it in the entertainment industry takes a combo of being really really talented and genuinely delusional. You have to really believe the thing every sane person says is impossible is possible.

It’s never too late to begin writing the thing that’s in your heart. It doesn’t matter if you sell it. It doesn’t matter if anyone ever reads it. You have brought into existence something from nothing. You can print it out and hold it in your hand. It’s real. You did that.

This is an open call for movie recommendations. I want movies that pack a punch. Stuff that will change the way I see myself and others. I want all killer, no filler. The less widely appreciated, the better. Any country. Any year. Any genre.

Judas and the Black Messiah is a film we all collectively moved on from too quickly. I blame COVID. Had this film dropped during normal times with a standard theatrical release, I think we’d discuss this more. I’m at least happy this movie received some Oscar love. Great film.
