As you said, lots of isolated places are changing “school” but aren’t changing the system those schools exist in. We aren’t having system level conversations about changing the WHY and WHAT. It’s a HUGE lift.

Systems that approach behavior as punitive, limit self-determination, or stifle teacher innovation cannot prepare today’s learners for tomorrow’s changing world.
Jennifer Binis In 1892 The Committee of Ten designed the education system we use today. It had good intentions to standardize curriculum and assessment so all kids got the same thing. Whether or not it was intended, it also sorts kids.
