Homelessness is growing, but programs and supports to address homelessness are shrinking. I will no longer be working at All Saints, unfortunately, but I am far from done with fighting for people's dignity, and their right to housing.

Dozens of housed people in Doug Ford's own riding have died from toxic drugs, where there's no CTS. Many do not have a substance use disorder diagnosis. They won't be candidates for a HART Hub. But they'll continue to die without more publicly-funded harm reduction programs.

Expanding alcohol sales with no plan and closing CTS are borne from the same anti-harm reduction ideology that places industry, e.g., the alcohol industry, above the health and welfare of people who use substances. In both cases, more harm — including more death — will ensue.

I am calling on Doug Ford to release the rent supplement funding so municipalities can move people out of shelter beds and into rental homes. There's no excuse for this inaction on homelessness. #ONpoli
