Our Executive Director, Stacie Frerichs, and Program Manager, Stacey Vetter, participated in The Lab Capacity Building Program by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation and @thirdplateau. We were honored to learn alongside so many of the Sacramento Region's great nonprofits!
We Celebrated! Thank you, Yolo Community Fdn, for supporting Nonprofits in our Region and giving us the space to celebrate volunteers and donors! Thank you Alan and Madeline for being part of the DAC family.
We are excited to feature Jack's art (age 6) for #BDOG2023. Follow us on social media and our email list for the story of his Jellyfish! Early giving has begun - schedule your donation starting today. bigdayofgiving.org/organization/d… Big Day of Giving #bigdayofgiving
Jack arrived to camp excited about art but a little reluctant to participate. Jack and the campers received their very own sketchbooks to experiment, make mistakes, practice, and keep a record of their ideas. #BDOG2023 Big Day of Giving Bigdayofgiving.org/davisartscenter
Jack was proud of his jellyfish sketches & the stories he shared about their seagoing adventures. Help us reach our goal of $25,000 today to bring more experiences like Jack's to youth throughout our region. #BDOG2023 Big Day of Giving #bigdayofgiving Bigdayofgiving.org/davisartscenter
We interrupt the story of the jellyfish to say, MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU! We are sharing a special Star Wars-themed Throwback Thursday to when Kazoom performed on Make Music Day 2017. youtube.com/watch?v=QfqN1u… #BDOG2023 Big Day of Giving Bigdayofgiving.com/davisartscenter
In the art studio, they watched mesmerizing videos of jellyfish. Soon they were pretending that their arms were like the jellyfish's bell and were mimicking swaying in the water. This movement calmed him before making art. #BDOG2023 Big Day of Giving Bigdayofgiving.org/davisartscenter
In the ceramics studio, Jack touched the clay and began sculpting the bell of the jellyfish body. Campers had lots of interests to explore. We had cats, dogs, pandas, hamburgers, boxes, and even Pokemons emerge from the kiln. #BDOG2023 Big Day of Giving Bigdayofgiving.org/davisartscenter
Thank you to our community for donating during the Big Day of Giving! Yesterday, our region raised more than $13.7 million from over 31,300 donors. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for lifting up our nonprofit community! #BDOG2023
