I wonder if USA tariffs hit used ag machinery exported from canada. Upcoming auctions could be precarious without American floor in the pricing.

Statcan has released Dec canary exports at 8419 mt globally. This is 45971 Mt Sept-Dec. This gives 110000 export program for the year (similar to last year) This is small. Mexico is a bright spot but likely means reduced demand Jan-July 31

Statcan set total exports of canaryseed at 15500 MT. And six months total of 60000 MT. While Jan was very strong I expect the year to be similar to last year. Down 30000 MT from normal.

Statcan also suggested Ac for 2025 canaryseed planting down 25% from 2024. I find this hard to believe and would expect acreage to be up from 2024 and declining new crop prices seem to agree.

Canaryseed exports Aug 1-Mar 31 was approx 90000 mt. Gives a 135000 mt export number to July 31. This is up slightly from last year. Hopefully lower price is bringing back demand.

SK Crop ins shows seeded acreage of canaryseed is up 30% in 2025. This is almost identical to my estimate of 30% increase vs stat can at 10% increase in acreage. This gives the market 2 years of canaryseed exports in available supply.
