BASK 24 conference in lovely Manchester. Tuesday sessions. Colleague and friend Nick Bottomley speaking in multi-lig knee injury session (chaired by Kash A and Raghbir K). Interesting, sensible, practical and canal tastic.

Can't tell you how delighted I am to be listening to a session on RESEARCH at BASK 24. An ideal contemporary & knowledgeable Faculty sharing general collective insight on the wider research journey. Helpful and much needed. Shows how far we have come. Hats off to the BASK Exec.

Super constructive REINFORCE (robotic surgery) review day in Cardiff with our lovely South West and Welsh colleagues. Yes, Torkington dodged the photo (his agent didn't allow), but was very there. Thanks to all, especially the organisers.

Our latest paper shows that intervention fidelity is crucial for accurately interpreting RCT treatment effect estimates and informing clinical practice changes. See why/how/by by how much (first paper to quantify) here: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Some little gems at the November Annual Academic Surgery Conference (NAASC) 2024 run by RACS in Adelaide. One related to our RCS BOASTIC. Dr Meet Patel showing methodology training facilitates publication output in medics. Good to have some numbers on that.

Which one are you? Mark Bray, business and life coach talking imposter syndrome at one of the more esoteric (still excellent) sessions of the November Annual Academic Surgery Conference (NAASC) in gorgeous Adelaide.

Big plenary talk from Prof Marion Campbell (from the world’s biggest podium!) at the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) Melbourne. Always high value. BOASTIC, RCS and MRC all get mentions.

Enjoying the ATP and ACTA teletrials conf in Brisbane. I can’t help thinking some of the excellent efficiency and problem solving used for rural trials could be harnessed for our increasingly burdensome non rural work. Reverse the expertise flow!
