The last photo I’ll share of the Floyd, NM tornado shows the tornado in its final stage, roping out. An expansive bowl of dust persisted for several minutes, even after the visible circulation lifted. NWS Albuquerque

Hi All! Join me LIVE today at 3:00p PDT (22:00 UTC) for an informal briefing on the potential G4-level #solarstorm event series we will be experiencing over the next few days. This storm series is both beautiful and complex, with notable impacts so be sure to get your questions

Agreed, the #solarstorm speed is extremely high and the field is strong, but we need to watch density too. Right now the density is very low (about 1 particle per cubic centimeter). This means the storm is wispy and so it might be underperforming compared to model predictions.

G4 watch remains in effect for tonight, June 1 (EDT), as CME passage continues. CME passage is slowly weakening, but conditions still elevated, therefore additional periods of G3-G4 remain possible, although less likely. Continue to visit spaceweather.gov for latest info
