Sunday night brought the first widespread measurable rain since late September. But with only around a quarter of an inch...it's hardly enough. We'd have to see this much rain 40 more times over the next 40 nights to dig out of our 10"+ rainfall deficit since late August.

Unfortunately...our rainfall chances are scarce for the next 7 days. Maybe a few scattered showers Thursday...but little to no measurable rain expected through the first half of next week. Drought will continue to worsen.

While last night's rain did briefly knock the dry fuels/brush down today...low humidity and gusty winds will lead to high fire danger as soon as Tuesday. Brisk winds likely return Fri/Sat...with no additional rain in sight.

Snow squall warnings extended south through the Northern Lehigh Valley, the Slate Belt, and neighboring NW NJ. Localized bursts of snow for parts (but not everyone) in the warning area. If traveling and you encounter a squall, reduce speed and expect low visibility.
