i auto-proverbed this into: "better to be wrong in public than right in private" and i kind of believe it.

i am seriously considering reading-group-meeting-roulette in which everyone prepares a talk on the same paper, and the speaker is chosen randomly on the day of the presentation.

in summer 2020, my group ran a daily "small meeting." the speaker presented for 20m and then asked the audience 3 questions. we had 5m to answer; then the speaker had 5m to explain. the meeting ran at most 30m, no exceptions. good Qs were added to anki. learned a lot fast!

managed to cut out all artificial sugar from my diet by eating a banana everytime I had a craving. i am eating a lot of bananas.

I love disproving my own little conjectures while working through a research project, especially those that seem undeniable. I feel set free of the misconception that I was transfixed by. Counterexamples propel projects forward to truer conjectures or a definitive end.

I'm super excited to announce that I'll be joining the The Wharton School Statistics and Data Science Department on July 1! Thank you to my mentors and colleagues at Cornell ORIE. I couldn't have asked for a better environment in which to grow!
