In today’s #PhD editing session I’m addressing my lit review and how to make it more focussed. I can reword to make it materially more succinct 💪 but from an intellectual point of view, what aspects should I focus on to drill down to the key points of the texts? #phdchat

Secret fact! I used to have a secret language I would use at school which was basically talking in anagrams and writing letters of the alphabet with the strokes mixed up so they looked different 😁 🤫

Good morning Twitter! Bit of a late morning tweet from me this morning thanks to joy that is now one-way supermarket shopping 🙄 Although nothing is quite as surreal as a Berio ‘Sequenza’ coming up on shuffle through the headphones whilst browsing the Weetabix! 🥣

Student won’t play scales in #piano lesson? Easy solution! Get them to turn the electric piano to a ‘doo’ #choir sound and playing all their scales at a ridiculously low pitch so they sound like Doctor Who #Dalek scales! 😂

Do you plan out your compositions before you start them? 🤔 Today’s tip for #composing focuses on how to structure your #music! There are other forms or you could decide to go rogue! But the ones listed below are the most common and easiest to use 👍 Let me know what you think!

Good morning Twitter! In the spirit of #ThrowbackThursday, today would have been #jazz pianist and singer Hazel Scott’s 100th birthday! 🥳 Scott fought for equality in Hollywood, challenging segregation and stereotyping. If you’ve not had the pleasure: youtu.be/DTtX7QVaQWk

Are you thrifty?💰 Today’s #music tip for #composition is all about being #musically thrifty rather than economically! Rather than changing lots of things, try changing one little thing at a time to keep familiarity in your music 🎵 Please feel free to RT! #ctarasmusictips

Good morning everyone! 😀 Who else is looking forward to the weekend? 🙋🏻‍♀️ I’m kicking off my Friday by teaching a #piano lesson and tempted to indulge in some #ukulele practise for the first time in ages, just for the sheer fun of it! 👍

Are you any good at throwing shapes? 💃 Don’t worry, I’m not either! So draw some lines and start creating #music and #composing in a super easy and quick way! All music has shape so why not start with that, rather than #notes and #rhythms 👍 Have you tried this? Let me know!
