GIANT Thank You to the 4th grade students, teachers, staff, & admins at 186th Street School for the opportunity for CSUDH College of Education preservice teachers to facilitate our 2nd annual #CSed event. Would not have been possible w/o Dr. Cristina Stephany, Dr. Mahya Minaiy, Swati Mehta, & Marcia Sidney-Reed!


What a beautiful day filled with joy and excitement for our 4th grade students! The collaboration between the Snap Inc. Institute for Tech & Education (SITE) team and the 186th Street School 4th grade teachers fostered student engagement at its finest. It was absolutely magical! Last week 3 amazing teachers won awards for excellence in equity-minded CS work: -Norma Gonzalez (Montebello Unified) -Valerie Baccus Doby (Los Angeles Unified) -Manuel Dueñas (Lynwood Unified School District) Our CSUDH College of Education students demoed robotics and Snap Inc., CSforALL & 9 Dots made it possible!


Our CSUDH College of Education preservice teachers spent the last 2 weeks leading a series of coding and robotics activities with kindergarten students and teachers at 186th Street School and did SUCH a phenomenal job. So grateful for this partnership & all the opportunities our future teachers have!


We’re so grateful our CSUDH College of Education preservice teachers had the opportunity to lead a series of computer science, robotics, and programming challenges with 4th grade students at 186th Street School - such a wonderful partnership and such a joyful day for all involved!


The CSUDH College of Education team enjoyed presenting at the CS Teachers Association (CSTA) conference. We shared our positive experiences of co-designing a hands-on robotic event with 186th Street School 4th grade teachers to teach computer science and bring joy to students and teachers.

Institute for Tech & Education (SITE)) and to the entire SITE staff on the huge success of the 3-week STEM From Dance camp held this summer during July and August. And big kudos to all of the 21 participants! 👏

Institute for Tech & Education (SITE) at CSU Dominguez Hills is working w/ the cityofcarson_ca's Parks & Recreation to offer free activities through Project CODER (Computing Opportunities for Discovery and Engagement through Robotics). Program runs from 9/9 to 10/11. See flyer for full details & to sign-up!

Last weekend, 15 Liberal Studies & Teacher Ed pre-service teachers attended the CA STEAM Symposium. Californians Dedicated to Education Foundation in partnership w/ Google, funded our students to go to the largest STEAM conference in the state. They were accompanied by 2 other groups from UCLA Ed & IS & COE
