Hello All! I know it's a stressful point in the semester for many, and often that stress can snowball as we try to manage others' stress while also carry our own. I want you to know that I see you and know you're doing the best you can. That's good enough. Keep going!

Unpopular viewpoint... I think elegant, clear, comprehensible prose is an art, and some academics are contemptuous of it because they are unable to master it.

Most academics I know love the job. it's the job loving them back that's the issue

No one ever suddenly gets lucky, if the stars suddenly align for you, you actually aligned them, consciously or not, by choosing where to live, who to learn from, who to marry, who to befriend, what lifestyle to maintain, what risks to take, and what vision to believe in.

We need more academics who question, "But who are all these journal articles for? " It feels like there is too much writing, not enough reading, and little or no action.

I keep having to remind myself that being behind on work was the *purpose* of going on strike - to disrupt normal processes. It's ok that I'm drowning right now ... right???
