My youngest brother left for the Air Force yesterday, I told my students I was sad because I’d miss him so much. One responded, “He sounds really cool!” He definitely is!

Yesterday a student assigned me a 10 paragraph essay about my weekend. I turned it in late and only wrote 3 paragraphs but I got a 90% 🤔😂

A student just told me I’m “2016 cool”. That means I’m cool, right?

Connection makes correction less necessary. We know how we feel when someone sees our struggle and wants to be present or help. Kids need the same. Set a goal to make 5-10 positive comments per class. The return on investment is immeasurable.

In the middle of iReady testing one of my 6th graders audibly gasped. I asked if he was okay. His response, “remember my iReady goal was 600? I get 620 and I’m so excited!” I’m so glad I made them set goals! 💪
